Strong Showing for Science Olympiad Team

Congratulations to the St. Timothy's School Science Olympiad team for their success at the Science Olympiad regional competition held recently at Riverside High School in Durham, NC. 

With 21-23 teams per competition, St. Timothy's School students had a strong showing placing fourth place or higher in seven different competitions. 

The Science Olympiad team has been preparing for this event since the start of the school year as part of their Science Olympiad elective led by science teachers Phoebe Sanders and Wendy Cook. 

Awards were given out to the following students at the competition:

  • Roller Coaster Challenge: 4th place Mac Cobb and Sarah Knox Harper
  • Potions and Poisons Challenge: 4th place Lillie Brickell and Henry Absher
  • Road Scholar Challenge: 4th place Henry Absher
  • Water Quality Challenge: 4th place Henry Absher
  • Elastic Launch Glider Challenge: 3rd place Devin Sanders
  • Density Lab Challenge: 2nd place Devin Sanders
  • Disease Detective: 2nd place Mac Cobb
