After 37 Years of Service, Admissions Director Cathy Clement to Retire
Posted 02/26/2019 10:11AM
In the history of St. Timothy's School, there have been only two Directors of Admission. The first was Carolyn Hale, one of the school's founders. The other is Cathy Clement, who has announced that she will retire this June.
Arriving in 1982 when she enrolled her elder daughter in kindergarten, Cathy became the assistant to Carolyn Hale. Upon Mrs. Hale's retirement 10 years later, Cathy assumed the role of Director of Admissions.

With 37 years at St. Timothy's, there is no one with a greater knowledge of the school than Cathy Clement. She has worked with every head of school in St. Timothy's history and witnessed a transformation of campus with the demolition of three small classroom buildings to construct the current main building. Cathy has served our school from the times of ditto paper and overhead transparencies all the way to Chromebooks for every middle schooler and the creation of our Imagination Lab.

Head of School Tim Tinnesz noted, "How many people can say they've personally met with every single child and parent that has come through St. Timothy's for well over three decades? Cathy's service to--and lasting impact on--our school, our colleagues, and especially our families, has been immeasurable."

Cathy has many plans for her well-deserved retirement, including frequent trips to Virginia to spend more time with her three grandsons... and hopefully periodic visits back to us at STS! Plans to celebrate Cathy and all that she has meant to the St. Timothy’s School community will be announced later this spring.
