St. Timothy's School welcomes Rev. Dr. Vincent J. Kopp as Chaplain of the School. Kopp will also serve as Assistant to the Rector of St. Timothy's Episcopal Church.
After a 40-year career as a pediatric anesthesiologist and adjunct professor, Kopp was called to serve children in a different capacity. Rev. Dr. Kopp was recently ordained to the Transitional Diaconate after completing the non-degree Theological Studies program from Sewanee School of Theology at the University of the South. A Raleigh native, Kopp is a husband, a father of three grown daughters, and a grandfather to several children.
Kopp will lead the school's weekly Chapel services and will work closely with teachers, administrators, and school counselor to teach, nurture, and support all of the children at St. Timothy's School. He will also help begin a multi-year implementation of a new, chaplain-led middle school Divinity curriculum. The classes in this new curriculum will include weekly lessons on Christianity, world religions, ethics, and service learning.
