Parents are invited to join us for an Early Childhood Symposium on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. beginning in the parlor. The theme for the symposium is "Perspectives on Early Childhood Language Development and Literacy." STS kindergarten teachers will hold break-out sessions with parents to discuss topics such as Connecting Spoken Languages and Literacy, Supporting Gifted/Early Readers, and How the Brain of a Five-Year-Old Learns. After the break-out sessions, Head of Lower School Alison Gammage and Learning Specialist Lindsay Behrens will conduct a guided conversation discussing what neurological research helps us understand about how young children learn.
Parents of young children are encouraged to attend. Please register online by January 19.
