Summer Camps

STS Summer Camps Update 5/15/20

We appreciate the patience and support of our families as we monitor the ongoing public health situation and review the most up-to-date guidelines and requirements from the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) and other relevant agencies as we make plans for our summer camps.

The wellbeing of our campers and staff members is the most important factor in all camp decisions, and anything we offer this summer must be done with confidence that we can abide by all necessary health and safety requirements.  Therefore, our 2020 summer programs must be redesigned to significantly limit on-campus offerings, while adding many new virtual camps.

On-Campus Offerings

We are no longer able to offer our previously scheduled on-campus camps.  We apologize for the inconvenience this causes, and we will offer refunds for all families who have registered.

Later this month, we expect new guidance from NCDHHS that will drive our final decision for on-campus offerings.  At this time, based on the preliminary guidelines provided, we believe we can offer three full-day (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) on-campus Titan Camps each week during the weeks of June 15 and June 22.  Each camp can have no more than eight students with two instructors (24 students total).  Camps will each be held in separate buildings with no shared spaces or interactions between other campers or staff members, and they will strictly adhere to all NCDHHS guidelines for social distancing, daily health screenings, regular hand sanitizing, daily disinfecting of classroom and restroom spaces, and more.

As you know, public health circumstances continue to quickly evolve and can be unpredictable.  St. Timothy’s may need to change or cancel our planned on-campus camps with little or no notice. On the other hand, if conditions permit, we hope to maintain or possibly expand our on-campus camps offerings the week of June 29 and into July, provided we are confident we can do so safely and responsibly.

All available spaces in our on-campus Titan Camps will first be offered to St. Timothy’s families who have already registered for our previously scheduled full-day summer camps. If we do not have enough available spaces to honor all requests, a lottery will be held.  Susan Patton will reach out to currently-registered families with more information.  If we have additional openings remaining, they will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis to current STS families.

Virtual Offerings

We have designed many new and exciting Virtual Camps that will be offered throughout the summer!  View Virtual Camp descriptions and registration.

Refunds and Payment Transfers

All families who have previously registered for camps should please complete the STS Camp Refund/Transfer Form for each camper to indicate how you would like to handle the summer camp registration of your child.

We appreciate your understanding during uncertain times as we seek to continue offering safe, fun, and enriching summer experiences and opportunities to our students.

Each summer, St. Timothy's School offers a fun and innovative program of half-day and full-day summer camps. In addition to a variety of entertaining and educational camps offered by STS faculty members, the school partners with several organizations to present additional opportunities for students. All programs are designed to create a safe, fun, familiar and exciting environment for participants.

Please contact summercamps@sttimothys.org if you have any questions.
