Ringing in the Holiday Season

What better way to celebrate the beginning of the Christmas season than with festive decorations, hot chocolate and Santa! On December 8, St. Timothy’s School hosted a Night of Christmas Cheer for students, parents, siblings and grandparents.

More than 1,000 people RSVP’d for the Christmas-themed event. The Middle School Chorus kicked off the evening by singing holiday favorites. Chorus parents, grandparents and siblings were invited to watch the performance and walk around the field to see thirty decorated Christmas trees–six decked out by lower school grades, one by faculty and staff and the rest by middle school advisories.

After the concert, other families began to arrive at their appointed time. The campus had been transformed into a winter wonderland: a red and white balloon arch welcomed families along with the tantalizing scent of fried dough from the Dusty Donuts food truck. Following a trail of luminaries, families made their way to the hot chocolate station, then down to the field to admire the festive trees. Students were thrilled to see Santa at the event, and many stopped to get photos and tell Santa what they wanted for Christmas.

Everyone left the event with sugary treats in their bellies and smiles on their faces. We are excited to see if A Night of Christmas Cheer will become a new St. Timothy’s tradition!
