Director of Individual Giving Named

St. Timothy’s School is pleased to announce that Marian Godwin recently joined the Advancement Team and will serve as the school’s Director of Individual Giving.

A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and History, Marian comes to us as a seasoned development professional with much experience in the Raleigh area.  She rose to be our first-choice candidate because of her long and accomplished development career, as well as her extensive leadership background in fundraising, strategic planning, project execution, and marketing.

She is particularly passionate about independent schools, having been an independent school student throughout her education.  Much of her professional career has also been spent in independent schools. In her most recent role as the Director of Development at The Montessori School of Raleigh, she worked to advance the school’s mission through successful implementation of robust fundraising initiatives and effective relationship building to meet the institution’s engagement, stewardship, and financial goals. Earlier in her career she served as Capital Campaign Coordinator for the Beyond Imagination Capital Campaign at Saint Mary’s School, as well as Director of Development for Loaves and Fishes Ministry.

Marian and her husband, Matt, have five children and are the proud parents of a new 6th grade Titan. She enjoys watching her girls play tennis, spending time at Atlantic Beach, and reading.  She is an active member in her church community and an avid lover of the arts. Marian is also a huge sports fan and enjoys cheering on the North Carolina Tar Heels and Georgia Bulldogs any chance she gets.
