Beth Barnard, Lower School Counselor
Mrs. Barnard has twenty years of experience in social work, individual and family therapy, and private practice. She also previously served as a school counselor. Mrs. Barnard has both a Master’s and a Bachelor’s degree in social work.
Muhammad Eid, Network Administrator
Mr. Eid has over 20 years of experience as a network engineer, security specialist, and teacher in various technology certification programs for career and technical institutes. He earned his AAS in Network Engineering.
Sean Fowler, Middle School History Teacher
Mr. Fowler just completed a year of student teaching Psychology, Sociology and Economics at Bald Eagle Area High School in Pennsylvania. He also has spent his summers since 2018 as a Lead Counselor at Paradise Farms Camps, in addition to significant youth coaching experience. Mr. Fowler earned his BS in Secondary Social Studies Education and has Pennsylvania Certification in Secondary Education.
Marian Godwin, Director of Individual Giving

Phoebe Guice, Middle School Art Teacher
Ms. Guice has been an art teacher at Lakeview Middle School in Greenville, SC, since 2018. In addition to her work as a professional artist, she has worked with children in international summer service projects in Chimbote, Peru, and Maseno, Kenya. She earned her BFA in Art Education.
Hiroko Reams, First Grade Teaching Assistant
Mrs. Reams has over 10 years of experience in teaching and working with children, many of those as a first grade teacher in California. She is also an STS parent. She earned her BA in Sociology.
Andrea Stehle, Middle School Latin Teacher
Ms. Stehle has taught Latin for 22 years, most recently working with middle school students in San Antonio, Texas. Formerly, she also taught study skills classes focusing on the adolescent brain. She earned a BS in Education, a BS in Latin, a Master’s of Education Administration, and a Master’s of Science in Teacher Leadership.
Peggy Todd, Middle School History Teacher
Mrs. Todd returns to St. Timothy’s School, her teaching home of 12 years, after recently earning her Master’s in Education Psychology. She previously taught middle school social studies and Writer’s Workshop classes at St. Timothy’s. Mrs. Todd also holds a BFA in Art History.
Kara Williams, Second Grade Teaching Assistant
Ms. Williams has 17 years of experience as a music and arts educator, primarily with Music Together in Charlotte and Raleigh. She was also a teacher for an elementary homeschool collective for four years, and a kindergarten and first grade public school teacher for an additional four years. She earned her BA in Elementary Education as an NC Teaching Fellow.
Familiar Faces in New Places
Shelley Bland, Fourth Grade Teacher
Mrs. Bland joined STS this year first as a middle school auxiliary instructor, and then became a second-grade teaching assistant. She was previously a third and fourth grade teacher in Granville County Schools and Wake County Schools for five years. She has a BS in Education.
Kyla Brazel, Second Grade Teaching Assistant and Lower School Academic Support
Mrs. Brazel joined STS early in the school year to support our teachers, families, and students with distance learning. Prior to joining STS, she taught fifth grade in Pennsylvania and was a substitute teacher in Wake County Public Schools. She earned her BS in Elementary Education.
Cary Duda, Third Grade Teacher
Ms. Duda joined STS this year first as a kindergarten teaching assistant, and then moved to support our third grade team. She previously served several years as a kindergarten lead teacher and second grade co-teacher, in addition to being a middle school soccer and cross country coach, at The Lovett School in Atlanta. She earned her MA in Elementary Education and BA in Communications.
Katherine Lee, Permanent Substitute Teacher
Ms. Lee rejoined STS this year as an auxiliary instructor for our third-grade teaching team and a middle school coach after initially serving as an STS third and fourth grade teacher from 2015-2018. She earned her BS in Education.
Lisa Price, Kindergarten Teaching Assistant
Mrs. Price joined STS this year as a Pre-K teaching assistant. Prior to joining St. Timothy’s, she taught for 10 years at White Memorial Presbyterian Preschool. Mrs. Price also taught high school science for several years. She earned a BS in Biology and a BA in Secondary Science Education.
Kayla Roberts, Assistant Athletic Director and P.E. Teacher
Ms. Roberts served this year as a middle school auxiliary instructor and a long-term substitute for lower school P.E. She has also coached our STS track and field and cross country teams since 2018. She earned her B.S. in Sport Management.
Karen Tinnesz, Library Assistant
Mrs. Tinnesz has been a first grade or kindergarten teaching assistant at STS since 2016, and she was previously a high school math teacher. She earned her BA in English, BS in Mathematics and MS in Mathematics.
