St. Timothee’s School in Boucan-Carré, Haiti has an exciting announcement: after years of purchasing land and planning, the school has started constructing a new building! On April 19, the construction crew broke ground for a school building that will be attached to the church. During such a difficult year, the news of this project is very welcome.
For five years, St. Timothy’s has been supporting our partner school by providing funds for meals, teacher salaries and uniforms. Thanks to a generous six-figure legacy gift, we have been able to assist with the school’s current expansion.
The school is operating in-person this year. In September 2020, about 60 of the older students attended classes and the school has since phased in the younger students. Due to the rural location of St. Timothee’s, the community has not been significantly affected by the pandemic.
