Campus Expansion Completed; Size Increases by 33%

It was a day to remember at St. Timothy’s School! After over two decades of planning, the expansion of St. Timothy’s campus has finally come to fruition. On April 12, students used the new outdoor space for learning and play for the first time. The eighth grade class had the honor of using the new space first.

Former Head of School Mike Bailey began acquiring additional land for campus expansion in 2000, when he acquired a property on Gates Street. By 2014, St. Timothy’s had acquired a total of three properties adjacent to campus.

St. Timothy’s launched the Our Children, Our Future Capital Campaign in 2017 to fund this first phase of the Campus Master Plan, expanding the campus by one-third of its size. In 2019, the three lots were leveled and made a part of the St. Timothy’s campus. After months of setbacks in obtaining the necessary permits, the school was able to break ground on November 7, 2019. The St. Timothy’s community has watched the construction progress with excitement and has been patiently waiting for this day to arrive.

In a school year where every outdoor space on campus is occupied at all times due to pandemic protocols, the opening of this new space couldn’t have come soon enough! Campus was filled with extra big smiles and lots of excitement as the students enjoyed the new play structures, a large, grassy field to run on, and a great spot in the amphitheater to enjoy snacktime.

Thank you to everyone who made this campus expansion possible: parents, grandparents, faculty and staff, Board members, neighbors and friends of the school. We appreciate your continued support!
