STS Reimagines Blue and White Days

Blue and White Day has been a tradition at St. Timothy’s for more than 35 years. Started in the 80s, the competition is usually held in late spring as an end-of-year celebration that students look forward to all year. The races may have changed since the beginning—now with socially distant games like frisbee and cornhole—but the loyalty to Team White or Team Blue is just as strong.

This year, Physical Education teacher Ivan Gattis has reformatted the activities to work with COVID-19 safety guidelines. Students have been assigned to the Blue or White team and they will compete by playing different games and activities periodically during their scheduled gym time. Mr. Gattis will keep a running tally throughout the year, updated weekly on Fridays, and will announce the winning team in the spring.

Friends of STS will once again be selling Blue and White Day t-shirts this fall—details coming soon!
