Welcome New Faculty and Staff!

Over the past year, St. Timothy’s has gone through a few changesand that includes hiring many new faculty and staff members. Read on to learn more about the newest members of our team.
Lower School


Laine_AdamsLaine Adams, Pre-K Assistant 

Mrs. Adams has joined the Pre-K team as an assistant to Mrs. Adcock and Mrs. Hemric.  She grew up in Charlotte, NC, and went to college at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  She and her husband have two children at St. Timothy’s: one in third grade and the other in first. 







Kyla Brazel, Distance Learning Instructor

Mrs. Brazel is taking on the new position of Lower School Distance Learning Instructor. She has lived in Raleigh since 2003, but is originally from Pennsylvania. Mrs. Brazel obtained a B.A. in elementary education from St. Francis University and has been teaching for more than 10 years. 





Carey Duda, Kindergarten Assistant

Ms. Duda has joined our Kindergarten team as a teaching assistant. She has a Master's degree in Elementary Education and before moving to Raleigh, she taught kindergarten in Atlanta for six years. Outside of school, Ms. Duda enjoys spending time outdoors, reading, running and playing with her dog.





Katherine Lee

Katherine Lee, Auxiliary Instructor

After a two-year hiatus, Ms. Lee has returned to St. Timothy’s as a lower school auxiliary instructor. During that time she owned a CrossFit gym and learned all about running a business. She is excited to be back at St. Timothy’s!




Lisa Price

Lisa Price, Pre-K Assistant

Mrs. Price has joined the Pre-Kindergarten team as an assistant to Mrs. Klein and Mrs. Lingle. After graduating from Elon University, she taught at Leesville Road High before becoming a stay-at-home mom to her two children. Most recently, Mrs. Price taught preschool at White Memorial Church for the past 10 years.







Cheryl Schmidt

Cheryl Schmidt, Second Grade Assistant

Mrs. Schmidt is a new second grade teacher. A longtime STS parent, she is also an executive member of the parent volunteer group, Friends. Schmidt has a B.A. in Elementary Education and taught for seven years as a first and second grade teacher and reading specialist at Green Elementary.






Jordan Shaw

Jordan Shaw, Pre-K and K Music Teacher

Ms. Shaw (‘99), who attended St. Timothy’s School then graduated from Hale High School, has come back to STS as the Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten music teacher. Her mother, Mrs. Brown, taught at St. Timothy’s for 20 years. Now a third generation is attending St. Timothy’s: Ms. Shaw’s eldest daughter has joined us in Pre-K.






Middle School



Emily Andino, Auxiliary Instructor

Ms. Andino has joined us as a middle school auxiliary instructor. She is from Raleigh and studied linguistics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In her free time, she enjoys playing tennis, learning foreign languages and cooking Italian food.





Randa Boykin, Auxiliary Instructor

Ms. Boykin is one of our new middle school auxiliary instructors. She graduated with a B.S. in Environmental Science from North Carolina State University. After college, she worked in an aquatic ecology laboratory, was a scientific administrative assistant for the Environmental Protection Agency and recently completed a 10-month service in Americorps NCCC, stationed in California.   






Chrissy Ettefagh

Chrissy Ettefagh, Science

Ms. Ettefagh has joined St. Timothy’s as a middle school science teacher. She recently moved back to Raleigh from Wilmington, NC, where she taught science at Cape Fear Academy.  In her free time, she enjoys gardening, walking and spending time at the beach. 





Kayla Roberts

Kayla Roberts, Auxiliary Instructor

Ms. Roberts has joined St. Timothy’s as a middle school auxiliary instructor, but may look familiar as she has previously coached several middle school sports teams at St. Timothy’s. She attended Wake Technical Community College where she played soccer, softball and ran cross country on scholarship. Ms. Roberts received a Bachelors in Sports Management from North Carolina State University.





Mary Margaret Roy

Mary Margaret Roy, Teaching and Learning Coordinator

Mrs. Roy is our new Teaching and Learning Coordinator for middle school. She comes to St. Timothy’s from Saint Joseph Catholic School in Columbia, SC, where she was the Director of Special Education. She earned a BA in History and Masters of Arts in Teaching from Louisiana State University, and is a big LSU football fan. She moved to Raleigh this past May with her family. 





Laura Stark

Laura Stark, Auxiliary Instructor

Ms. Stark ('77) has joined St. Timothy’s as a middle school auxiliary instructor. She previously worked for 21 years at Saint Mary's School as the Department Chair of the World Languages Department and a French and Spanish instructor, and then started a tutoring business. 




Tracey Woodward

Tracey Woodward, Math

After stepping away from STS for a couple of years, Mrs. Woodward has returned to teach seventh-grade math at St. Timothy’s. She previously was the Athletic Director for St. Timothy’s as well as a middle school math teacher. We are so excited to have her back on campus!

Brittany Edwards

Brittany Edwards, Assistant Chaplain 

Rev. Brittany Edwards has joined St. Timothy’s as the part-time Assistant Chaplain and Religious Studies teacher. When she's not working on her Master of Divinity program at Duke, she loves sewing dresses for her Etsy shop. Brittany lives in Morrisville with her husband and their dog, cat and fish.







Emmanuel Mutombo

Emmanuel Mutombo, Security Officer

Emmanuel Mutombo is the new security officer at St. Timothy’s. Before emigrating to the United States, Officer Mutombo worked as a pharmaceutical sales representative in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and a security officer in South Africa. In his spare time, Officer Mutombo enjoys traveling and shopping.
