Tuition & Affordability

For your convenience, tuition may be paid in one of 4 ways:

• Paid in full by June 1 (a $50 discount applies to all tuition paid in full before this date).
• Two equal installments due in June and October.
• Four equal installments due June 1, October 1, January 1, and April 1. A $60 surcharge will apply per payment.
• Monthly installments for 10 months (a $600 surcharge applies to tuition paid in monthly installments).

Tuition includes books, classroom supplies, and field trips.

Please note that a deposit of $1,000 per student is due at the time of enrollment and is included in the total tuition amount. 

A one-time, non-refundable new family fee of $1,500 is due at the time of enrollment for families new to St. Timothy’s School.

A $500 sibling discount will apply to all students with older siblings attending St. Timothy’s School. 

• A $500 technology fee applies to grades 5-8 and is added into your tuition payments.
• A $100 athletic fee per sport applies to grades 6-8.
• If a student withdraws between May 31 and June 30, a withdrawal fee of $2,000 in addition to the non-refundable enrollment deposit and new family fee, as applicable, will be charged.
• After School Care (ASC) is not included in tuition. Please refer to our After School Care information for fees.
• Convenience fees of approximately 3% apply when paying tuition by credit card.

St. Timothy’s School uses Veracross Data Management System for billing and tuition management. At the time of enrollment, you will be required to create a free account with Veracross VC Pay.

• St. Timothy’s School strives to provide an outstanding yet affordable education. School supplies, field trips, and the annual yearbook are included in the cost of tuition.
• All families, consistent with their ability, are encouraged to give to the St. Timothy's Annual Fund and periodic capital campaigns to support new programs and other needs not covered by tuition alone.

St. Timothy’s School participates in the North Carolina Opportunity Scholarship Program administered by the North Carolina State Education Assistance Authority (NCSEAA). Families with students in kindergarten through 8th grade must apply directly to the NCSEAA for Opportunity Scholarship consideration. Scholarships are renewable and provide up to $7,900 a year based on a family's household income. There is no upper income limit to receiving an award. Awards are subject to the availability of state funding. Scholarships are paid directly to the school.

The priority application period for new scholarship applications for the 2027-28 school year is anticipated to open on February 1, 2027, and close on March 1, 2027. Families currently receiving the Opportunity Scholarship for the 2026-27 school year will have the opportunity to renew their student’s scholarship in the spring.

St. Timothy’s School is strongly committed to educating academically qualified students regardless of their socio-economic status. We offer need-based financial aid to eligible students. Financial aid applications are made directly through the Clarity Schools, which opens on November 1, 2026. The first round application deadline for financial aid for the 27-28 school year is January 4, 2027. Applications for Financial Aid will be considered on a rolling basis after this date in the order they are received if funding remains available. 

Financial Aid applications should be completed at the same time as the application process, if possible. Clarity charges an application fee of $65.        

All inquiries and applications for financial aid are held in the strictest confidence. Financial aid decisions are made in line with our Financial Aid Policy. Applying for financial aid does not affect the admissions process for any student. Families are required to reapply for Financial Aid each year.

NC Opportunity Scholarship for Financial Aid Applicants

All families applying for financial aid awards for Kindergarten to 8th Grade from St. Timothy's School are also required to apply for the Opportunity Scholarship, providing all required materials and meeting all deadlines for application, acceptance, and disbursement of funds set by the NCSEAA. The School's Financial Aid Committee determines a family's financial aid award without consideration of any potential Opportunity Scholarship Award. Therefore, families should plan for any Opportunity Scholarship award to be deducted from the financial aid already awarded by the School and should not plan for any further reduction of the family's tuition obligation to St. Timothy's School.

The Opportunity Scholarship priority application period has closed for the 2026-27 school year. The application remains open for families that wish to apply at https://k12.ncseaa.edu/opportunity-scholarship/. Families that apply after the priority period are awarded in order of application date, as funds are available, after renewal and priority period applicants. The application for the 2027-28 school year is anticipated to open on February 1, 2027, and close on March 1, 2027.
