Scarlett Beamon Signs Letter of Intent With UNC-Asheville

STS alum Scarlett Beamon is headed to UNC-Asheville in the fall to continue a cross country career that took off four years ago.

Although she played soccer and basketball at St. Timothy's, it was not until her freshman year at West Johnston High School that Scarlett ran in her first cross country meet. By junior year, she realized she wanted to continue on the collegiate level and amped up her training.

"We knew Scarlett was talented," said West Johnston cross country coach Patrick Shaw, "but she didn't realize how good she could be until the past two years."

Scarlett was photographed on National Signing Day flanked by her parents, Jim and Brenda Beamon, and her coach, Patrick Shaw.
