Student Artwork on Display at NC Legislature Building

The St. Timothy’s School Visual Arts Program is proud to announce that this year’s North Carolina General Assembly Youth Art Exhibit once again features artwork by two STS students. Artwork by eighth grader Julia Priu and fifth grader Tom Cross (now living in Australia) were selected among entries from all over North Carolina. Their artwork will be on display for one year at the north lobby of the Legislative Building. This exhibit is co-sponsored by the North Carolina Art Education Association and the North Carolina General Assembly. A reception was held last week to recognize these students. STS Art Teachers Laura Bierer and Kim Balentine, along with Headmaster Tim Tinnesz, were on hand to congratulate these students. Julia Priu attended with her family and, thanks to modern technology, Tom Cross attended virtually donning his old STS uniform shirt for the occasion. The students had the privilege to speak with NC Representative Grier Martin and NC State Senator John Alexander at the reception.

Congratulations to Julia and Tom for this honorable achievement!
