Coat and Clothing Drive a Huge Success
Posted 02/10/2017 12:14PM
Under the leadership of Service Learning teacher Tara Konya, the 6th grade students recently collected and sorted 596 articles of clothing to be donated to the Salvation Army and Note in the Pocket. That equaled 22 large bags of clothing.

Approximately 90 coats will be donated to the Salvation Army of Wake County's Coat Distribution Program, which gives families in need coats to keep warm in the winter months.

Note in the Pocket, a local non-profit organization dedicated to clothing children with dignity and love, will receive the 500 articles of clothing collected. Note in the Pocket sorts and packages clothing based on size. The items are then distributed to children in need by social workers in Wake County.

Thank you to the 6th graders and their families for making this service project a huge success!
