Middle School

Fifth through Eighth Grade

The Middle School curriculum at St. Timothy’s continues to support our students as they build on the strong academic foundation established in Lower School while preparing them for sustained success in high school and beyond. Our Middle School faculty recognizes the learning opportunities unique to late childhood and early adolescent intellectual and social development. Our courses are structured to strengthen organizational and independent study skills and designed to engage critical-thinking skills as students grapple with the ideas and understandings of the world that surrounds them. Physical Education and a set of electives augment the core subjects of Mathematics, Literature, Grammar, Science, History, and World Languages.

“With the Latin experience STS gave me, I continued to excel in Latin in high school. I took four more years of Latin at Cardinal Gibbons and took the AP Latin Exam my senior year. My knowledge of Latin, starting at St. Timothy’s, helped me tremendously on the reading comprehension part of the ACT, as well as my anatomy and physiology courses.”
