Library
Students come to the library once a week for 30 minutes. During the first half of their library visit, the students are engaged in story time; frequently, a project is assigned that corresponds to the story. The students are then free to choose any book they want from the appropriate sections. The literature of well known authors and illustrators is introduced. Library instruction is presented throughout the year. Emphasis is put on library terminology, the importance of the arrangement of the books and why it is so important to shelve a book correctly.
Library time is intended to be an enjoyable experience in an atmosphere conducive to developing a love for books and reading and an appreciation of libraries as a source for life long learning.

Physical Education
Screams fill the gymnasium as the little minnows scurry across the ocean fleeing the deadly jaws of the shark. Little squirrels run for the safety of the trees when the teacher's imaginary dog gets loose from it pen. The tireless trash collectors run about the floor scooping the endless amounts of trash that the teacher has so carelessly thrown down. These are some of the initial activities that Kindergarten students play. Sharks and Minnows, The Trash Game and Squirrels in the Yard are all-time favorites at St. Timothy’s School.
The boys and girls can also look forward to experimentation with many types of balls. They are different in size, texture, color and playability. Each has its own characteristics which make it unique. In addition, students looks forward to scoop and paddle activities, bats and balloons, wacky noodles and stepping stones. Another favorite activity is using the parachute. Other popular games are Popcorn Machine, Poison Snakes, Cheetah Lane and how much food a crab can eat in a minute.

Science Lab
For 30 minutes each week, the kindergarten students become young scientists as they conduct experiments in the science lab. Using simple laboratory tools, such as pipettes and beakers, they will explore basic scientific concepts throughout the year. The students will conduct a variety of experiments that coordinate with classroom topics, such as colors, food, dental health, weather, plants, and animals. Although the kindergarteners do not participate in the school science fair, they will begin to learn the steps of the scientific method in preparation for future science fairs! By providing a fun and comfortable setting in the lab, the students will gain confidence in their ability to make their own special discoveries.

Music
Kindergarten students participate in music twice per week. We endeavor to develop skills in music concomitant with growth and motor skills. Concepts such as high—low, loud—soft, long—short, steady beat, and matching pitch are the focus. These goals are achieved in a variety of ways: through classroom activities, dance, patting rhythms, body percussion, rhythm instruments, visual representations, singing, aned games. Assessment takes place in each class after a set of core lessons are completed, and through various performances throughout the year. The performances include the Pumpkin Parade, Thanksgiving Chapel, and the Easter Hat Parade. The goal of music is to enhance each person’s world, open avenues of personal expression, increase music aptitude, and develop, as fully as is possible, each learner’s musical and creative ability. Since music is a corporate, as well as an individual skill, learners are expected to work in harmony with one another.
