Campus Life | Arts
Visual and performing arts are an integral part of St. Timothy’s curriculum. Students are encouraged to discover and cultivate their talents. Children from kindergarten through eighth grade enjoy art appreciation, art history, and exploring working in many different mediums that include clay/ceramics, charcoal, watercolors, pen and ink, and photography. Teachers introduce students to art masterpieces by using interactive whiteboards in their classrooms and by visiting area museums. Students’ art work is displayed at the St. Timothy’s Art Show in April, the NC Museum of Art, the Cary Ballet Conservatory, Starbuck’s and other area businesses.
Musical performances by the chorus are held at the Governor’s Mansion, the Commons at North Hills, the school courtyard, and other venues around the Triangle area. Demonstrations by the debate students are for the enjoyment of the parents and students on campus. Students in drama perform in several productions during the school year. For students in the lower school, the annual Christmas Pageant, which has been performed for over 50 years, is the highlight of the school year.
