About St. Timothy's | After School Care

The After School Care Program provides students with a fun, safe experience that is distinctly different from a classroom setting.  Students need a chance to "unwind" from their school day and to participate in a variety of recreational activities. One full-time director runs the program, with a 1:10 staff-to-child ratio of part-time staff members. The part-time staff includes St. Timothy's teachers and other staff members, as well as college-aged students. A nutritious snack and homework assistance are first on the agenda, followed by a wide range of activities.

 

The After School Care Program is available from 2:45-6:00 p.m. every full school day. Early dismissal days begin at 11:30 a.m and end at 5:00 p.m. See the school calendar for special closing times and dates. There is no drop in service during the first week of school.

 

 

If you choose to use the After School Care Program on a drop-in basis, send a $15.00 payment in an envelope with the child's name and date requested on the outside of the envelope. Requests for drop-in and payment of $15.00 per day must be received on the morning your child plans to attend. Calling in at the last minute is strongly discouraged, as snacks and staffing needs must be planned in advance.

 

 **If your child will be consistently dropping in on the same day(s), please let us know. We can establish a payment plan and add your child to the permanent role for those days.

 

Picking up: If you pick up your child before 5:00 p.m., you will need to park, come to the lunchroom and sign out your child so the staff will know you have picked him/her up. If you pick up your child after 5:00 p.m., you may drive through on the shelter side of the driveway. A staff member will take your name and call your child out of assembly to meet you at the car. If you arrive after 6:00 p.m., a late fee of $5.00 for every 10 minutes (or any portion thereof) will be imposed. Please be on time.

 

Dress Code for After School: Students may choose to stay in their uniforms or to change clothes for the afternoon. If your child chooses to change, he/she must have appropriate, neat, active clothes. Jeans, jean shorts, sandals, and tank tops are not permitted. Please label all clothes, especially uniform items.

 

Homework: Children in grades 1-4 will have supervised homework time beginning at 4:00 p.m. each day. The children will be expected to work independently, but help is available from the staff. If you would like your child to continue to do homework until she/he finishes, please make the director aware of this.
