Academics | Kindergarten
Kindergarten at St. Timothy's School provides an excellent educational program designed to meet the individual needs of each student. The program is geared to help each child develop to his full potential.
Kindergarten strives to combine the best modern teaching methods and materials with traditional values. Based on love and mutual respect for others as well as oneself, the children are nurtured in a caring and happy school environment. Teachers are committed to the education of the whole child. In addition to academic excellence, there is a deep concern for the development of a positive self-image, organizational skills, and an ability to work independently.
Children develop and experience success in a variety of ways. Kindergarten provides a rich and stimulating curriculum, which includes Physical Education, computer class, Spanish, art, music, science lab, library, and chapel; as well as the basic academic subjects of reading, mathematics, science, and social studies.
Children learn within the family as well as in school. To reinforce this process, close contact between teachers and parents is essential. Parents are encouraged to be active participants in their child's school experience.
Concerted efforts are made so that children leave kindergarten with the knowledge that they are special, with a great sense of self-esteem, with respect for others, and a positive and happy attitude towards learning.
